our love letter to black women

Founded in 2024, Shades of Grace was created from a simple but powerful belief: Black women deserve spaces where they can show up fully as themselves and experience genuine connection, support, and belonging.

What began as a response to the isolation, invisibility, and pressure many Black women experience while navigating life in Seattle has grown into a community-centered organization dedicated to fostering connection through intentional gatherings, storytelling, and shared experiences.

At our core, we believe grace is not something that has to be earned—it is something we deserve. Through our work, we aim to create spaces where Black women feel seen, celebrated, and supported as they navigate their personal, professional, emotional, and spiritual journeys.

Our vision is to cultivate a thriving community where Black women can build meaningful relationships, embrace authenticity, and find strength in one another.

Community is more than proximity—it's knowing that you don't have to carry everything alone.
